2. role Purpose

Supervise the team of instrument technicians / senior instrument technicians and contractors to perform quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary for the smooth functioning of the given area of the Oman LNG plant.

3.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To ensure Quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary.
  2. Supervise and also perform corrective preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance and IPF tests on field instruments like smart pressure transmitters, positioners for control valves, vibration monitoring systems, DCS, Fire and Gas System, ESD system.
  3. Ensure that technicians follow company procedures, work instructions, IPF protocols and vendor instruction manuals when executing maintenance activities.
  4. Apply the approved standards and best practices to ensure the reliability and integrity of instruments and instrument systems.
  5. Participate in shutdown maintenance and in house project implementation.
  6. To oversee maintenance activities carried out by technicians and provide technical support
  7. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with complex HSE policy and procedures.
  8. Report or escalate support requirements to Senior Supervisor / area maintenance coordinator and collaborate with Discipline Engineer and other departments.
  9. On completion of Maintenance activities, ensure that all work history with necessary details and data is entered into the CMMS system.
  10. Use required test instruments like multimetre / simulators / communicator / dead weight to carry out maintenance activities.
  11. Use Intools to access latest documents like Instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, data sheet etc.
  12. Access and report against tasks within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  13. To be mentor for technicians and trainee technicians. Lead and guide on the job training for Omani trainee technicians to become competent technicians.
  14. Contribute to the reliability and integrity of the instrumentation and instrumentation systems by the application of reliability centred techniques and effects control within an ISO certified quality assurance system.
  15. Apply the approved standards, procedures and schedules to ensure the reliability and integrity of the plant equipment and systems in the allocated area.
  16. Contribute to the development of specific procedures, work instructions, repair plans, inspection and testing schedules and ensure compliance.
  17. Supervise that work is carried out in accordance with complex QHSE policy and procedures.

CHALLENGES

  1. Minimizing mean time to repair equipment and maximizing mean time between equipment failure
  2. Ensuring full utilization of the CMMS and planning tools.

4.Qualifications AND EXPERIENCE:

1. OND or equivalent in engineering with minimum 8 years of experience in industry as Senior Instrument technician and minimum 2 years as instrument supervisor is preferable.

2.Experienced in supervision of technicians and contractors.

3.A minimum of 6 to 8 years involvement in troubleshooting, analysis and resolving complex technical field problems independently.
