1. POSITION DETAILS

2. role Purpose

Provide quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, Preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary. Report or escalate support requirements to senior Instrument technician or supervisor and collaborate with Discipline Engineer and other departments to ensure for the smooth functioning of the given area of the Oman LNG plant.

3. ROLEs, Responsibilities and challenges:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To carryout Quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, Preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary.
  2. Perform corrective Preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance and IPF tests on field instruments like smart pressure transmitters, positioners for control valves, vibration monitoring systems, DCS, Fire and Gas System, ESD system.
  3. To follow company procedures, work instructions, IPF protocols and vendor instruction manuals when executing maintenance activities.
  4. Apply the approved standards and best practices to ensure the reliability and integrity of instruments and instrument systems.
  5. Participate in shutdown maintenance and in house project implementation.
  6. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with complex HSE policy and procedures.
  7. Report or escalate support requirements to senior Instrument technician or supervisor and collaborate with Discipline Engineer and other departments.
  8. On completion of Maintenance activities, ensure that all work history with necessary details and data is entered into the CMMS system.
  9. Use required test instruments like Multimeter / simulators / communicator / dead weight to carry out maintenance activities.
  10. Use Intools to access latest documents like Instrument Loop Diagrams, wiring diagrams, data sheet etc.
  11. Access and report against tasks within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Lead and guide on the job training for Omani trainee technicians to become competent technicians.

CHALLENGES:

  1. Ensuring compliance to safety procedures, as work may involve performing in hazardous conditions.
  2. To develop systematic troubleshooting approach to ensure reliability, integrity and quality.
  3. To highlight repetitive failures and ensure a permanent and reliable solution is implemented in consultation with discipline engineer.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, and working conditions

Qualifications AND EXPERIENCE:

- OND or equivalent in Instrument discipline engineering with minimum 3 years of experience in oil & gas / petrochemical / fertiliser industry as a technician.

- Experience of troubleshooting, analysis and resolving technical field problems in instruments and instrumentation systems field instruments like smart pressure transmitters, positioners for control valves, vibration monitoring systems, DCS, Fire and Gas System, ESD system.

Working Conditions

  • - Plant based role with base location as Sur
  • - 5/2 work pattern
  • - Work may involve exposure to dust, noise and vibrations on a regular basis
