Lead Rotating Equipment Technician

2. role Purpose

Monitor the condition and performance of the assigned rotating equipment and perform the required trouble shooting activities of mechanical faults in order to effectively predict and prevent equipment failures. Support rotating equipment engineer during shutdowns.

3. ROLEs and Responsibilities

  1. Execute condition and performance monitoring programs on allocated rotating equipment.
  2. Execute routine vibration data collection tasks, review data, conduct alarm/deviation surveys and report all deficiencies to relevant disciplines for follow-up.
  3. Monitor the machinery conditions (vibration, temperature etc.), in order to identify any changes which are indicative of a developing fault.
  4. Carry out commissioning checks of newly installed rotating equipment
  5. Interpret the test results using technology and experience to locate the problem and schedule maintenance, or other actions, to prevent machine failure.
  6. Apply technical and process skills and experience to optimize overall improvement in allocated rotating equipment through predictive and preventive maintenance.
  7. Provide expert advice on both the off-line vibration monitoring database and on-line performance monitoring database.
  8. Execute and coordinate inspection activities during rotating equipment shutdowns.
  9. Ensure adherence to rotating equipment standards, specifications and work procedures. Identify and implement opportunities to improve the work processes.
  10. Oversee maintenance and upkeep of the relevant databases and library files.
  11. Lead boroscopic inspections and water wash programs for gas turbines.
  12. Inspect and monitor the health of assigned rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, turbines etc.

  15. Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental performance as per organization standards.
  16. Develop and enhance the skill of both new hires as well as experienced technicians to support/meet OLNG Omanisation target.
  17. Utilize the training and learning opportunities provided by the organization to develop competencies in specialist areas and work towards self-development.

4. QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • - OND in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience of rotating equipment in LNG/ O&G industry.
  • - Condition monitoring, problem solving and RCA experience is essential.
