1. POSITION DETAILS:

2. role Purpose:

Provide quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary. Report or escalate support requirements to senior Instrument technician or supervisor and collaborate with Discipline Engineer and other departments to ensure for the smooth functioning of the given area of the Oman LNG plant. Address maintenance issues brought forward by instrument technicians in the team. Guide and mentor instrument technicians and trainee technicians.

3.ROLEs, Responsibilities and challenges:

  1. To carryout quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, Preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary.
  2. Perform corrective Preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance and IPF tests on field instruments like smart pressure transmitters, positioners for control valves, vibration monitoring systems, DCS, Fire and Gas System, ESD system.
  3. To follow company procedures, work instructions, IPF protocols and vendor instruction manuals when executing maintenance activities.
  4. Apply the approved standards and best practices to ensure the reliability and integrity of instruments and instrument systems.
  5. Participate in shutdown maintenance and in house project implementation.
  6. To oversee maintenance activities carried out by technicians and provide technical support
  7. To be mentor for technicians and trainee technicians.
  8. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with complex HSE policy and procedures.
  9. Report or escalate support requirements to supervisor / Senior Supervisor and collaborate with Discipline Engineer and other departments.
  10. On completion of Maintenance activities, ensure that all work history with necessary details and data is entered into the CMMS system.
  11. Use required test instruments like multimetre / simulators / communicator / dead weight to carry out maintenance activities.
  12. Use Intools to access latest documents like Instrument Loop Diagrams, wiring diagrams, data sheet etc.
  13. Access and report against tasks within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  14. Lead and guide on the job training for Omani trainee technicians to become competent technicians.

CHALLENGES:

  1. Ensuring compliance to safety procedures, as work may involve performing in hazardous conditions
  2. Observing speed, vibration, sounds and making necessary decisions for associated instruments
  3. Take appropriate decisions for equipment upkeep .

4.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, and working conditions:

Qualifications AND EXPERIENCE:

  • - OND or equivalent in instrument engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in industry as technician out of which 2 years as Sr. Instrument technician is preferable.
  • - Experienced in supervision and mentoring of instrument technicians and contractors preferred.
  • - A minimum 2 years involvement in troubleshooting, analysis and resolving complex technical field problems independently.
  • Working Conditions:
    • - Plant based role with base location as Sur
    • - 5/2 work pattern
    • - Work may involve exposure to dust, noise and vibrations on a regular basis.
